This interactive series of 8 one-hour long workgroup sessions is intended to help professional caregivers make their early learning environment more child-led and full of play.

We’ll use Peter Gray’s Five Conditions Of Play as our working definition of Play. The primary goal of this series is to support attendees in implement changes to their play environments that are supportive of those conditions.

Part training, part discussion, part peer coaching, each of the 8 sessions starts with a short presentation highlighting a topic of interest to participants. The balance of each session is reserved for attendee-driven discussion about what they are dealing with while working to implement or improve their child-led play environments. These conversations about struggles, successes, tips, and questions will serve as the foundation for additional learning and personal reflection.

Participants will also have access to a private page on our Playvolution HQ website where we can connect between sessions for additional conversation, support, and peer mentoring.

Built in part on content from my book , Let Them Play: An Early Learning (Un)Curriculum, 26 years as a caregiver, and 2 decades presenting trainings on the topic, this series offers up proven strategies for supporting child-led learning as well as ongoing support over an extended period to move attendees to deeper levels of knowledge and skill in supporting play–which will directly impact their daily interactions with children.
