2021 Self-Care Seminar Series

This interactive series of 8 one-hour long seminar sessions is intended to help professional caregivers develop their own sustainable self-care practice. The demands of working with young children requires an abundance of emotional energy. Caregivers who do not have an effective self-care practice can easily find themselves feeling stressed, anxious, burnt out, and unfocused. This causes them to function as less effective versions of themselves.

Implementing a self-care practice requires building new habits and breaking old habits. It’s not easy to do on your own–the ongoing peer support and resources this series of sessions provides can help.

Built on content from my books Finding Your Smile Again and Keeping Your Smile and nearly 2 decades presenting trainings on the topic, this series offers up proven self-care strategies as well as ongoing support over an extended time period to move attendees to deeper levels of knowledge and skill in planning and implementing their personal self-care routine–which will directly impact their early childhood work and personal life.

Part training, part discussion, part peer coaching, each of the 8 sessions starts with a short presentation highlighting a self-care concept. The balance of each session is reserved for attendee-driven discussion about what they are dealing with while working to implement their own self-care practices. These conversations about self-care ups, downs, struggles, successes, tips, and questions will serve as the foundation for additional learning and personal reflection.

Attendees will also have access to a private page on our Playvolution HQ website where we can connect between sessions for additional conversation, support, and peer mentoring.

Note: The session qualifies as approved Nebraska Department Of Education Office Of Early Childhood Automatically Accepted ECE In-Service Training
