Training Overview

Overview

I’ve been an early learning speaker since 2000 and have keynoted events across the USA, Canada, and Australia over the last two and a half decades. For years, I was on the road 25+ weekends a year, thanks to word-of-mouth promotion from satisfied attendees.

I’ve done online training for nearly as long, since 2006. Since 2018, that’s been my primary focus while I’ve cut back on in-person events.

The 40+ topics I offer break down into 4 major categories: play, caregiver self-care, do-it-yourself ideas, and program operations.

Now, I host online training here at Explorations Early Learning and do online and in-person training events organized by other organizations.

A bit of my history: I worked with kids in a center-based program for 16 years, did family child care for a bit over 10 years, wrote a bunch of books for Redleaf Press, was a toymaker for a bunch of years, hosted the worlds longest running and most prolific early learning podcast for 12 years, and now create and curate early learning resources at Playvolution HQ when I’m not doing training.

Booking A Training

Booking or inquiring about booking an in-person or live online training is easy; simply reach out and let me know about your event. I can answer any question, check my calendar, and hold a date while a final decision is made if necessary.

Available Training

You’ll find both live online and recorded training options here at Explorations Early Learning. All sessions are one hour in length.

Live Online Training

My live online training sessions are on Tuesday evenings at 7pm Central time, USA, via the Zoom meeting platform. Training certificates are available to those who attend the session and complete an evaluation after the training. For those unable to participate in the live training, the session recording is posted by noon the following day. In most cases, I can issue a professional development certificate for those who watch the video; some states I work with do not allow this.

Recorded Training

Recordings of past live online training events are available for those interested in the topic but who do not need a training certificate. These recordings also include access to a resource page with useful related links.
